free eye tests from work if you work with computers

did you know that under health and safety provisions, if you are a high vdu (monitor/computer) user as part of your job you are entitled to a free eye test?

I just thought people would like to know this, opticians vary with how your workplace has a contract with. My workplace is with specsavers, plus I got glasses from the £39.99 range free. I didn't like these so opted for the 2 for 1 £75 ones and got the £39.99 knocked off

You can take this up with your health and safety officer/personnel manager or other appropriate person.

the bit relating to eye tests is on page five

hope this helps someone

  • Excellent, thanks for this, we didnt know about it - just spoken to our Accounts manager and he's said that yes, if we go and have an eye test, they will reimburse us.
