Just came across this news on the Which? website. I doubt it will have any adverse effect on current Flow Energy customers.

"Feb 2017: Flow Energy is for sale. Its parent company, Flowgroup, said that although the business is growing, pressure from volatility in wholesale market prices and trying to compete with new energy firms offering cheap tariffs had prompted the decision. Flowgroup hopes that selling Flow Energy will help it to develop its smart microchip boilers."

Interesting... I thought this quote was quite revealing and might explain, in part, why collective switches seem to have had their day:

Quote We are investigating several new routes to market to reduce our reliance on the price comparison sites and we regularly review our pricing strategy as the market continues to move and evolve. Unquote

I see that they also want to focus on their new boiler. Alongside it, they offer a rebadged Intergas RF Eco. I asked for a quote in December; got a callback from CS a couple of days later and heard absolutely nothing more.

Thanks for the kind offer but that particular ship has now sailed. The Intergas RF Eco was top of my new boiler short list; however, having spoken to Intergas Support there are known issues connecting my existing heating controls to this boiler. The problem is currently under investigation by Intergas in The Netherlands. For completeness, I should add that the lack of compatibility may not be a boiler issue: it could well rest with the manufacturer of the heating controls.

I have since accepted a quote for a boiler that is known to work well with my heating controls - with connection via Opentherm.
