I often use my Microwave just after conventional, no probs if you use an oven safe dish, yes it gets hot, but just use a cloth, it will get hot anyway.
Make, Panasonic if widely recognized as the best, & they are slimmer than the cheepos.0 -
My combi was given away as I couldn't get the hang of it either
I just use the top oven now. Ok so it may be a bit more expensive to run, but it frees up the basic micro
Tbh though most of what I cook is hob
When me and DH first started life as a couple we had one of those little work top bellings , 2 rings and oven. Trouble was if you used the oven, only enough power left for one ring. Great fun cooking the Sunday roast lol
Lidl have those wee ovens all the time. They also are very good about refunds if you have your receipt. I'd just go lift one of those and see how you go. If you hate it, take it back0 -
Just my 2 pence worth
I have a basic Argos mini oven, big enough to cook two pasties or a pie, or pasta bake, portion of oven chips , basically anything just under an A4 size of dish.
I'm on my own , so big enough for me, I sit a metal dish or small saucepan on the top to start warming thorough any beans or veg, or if I need to do two lots of baking, I cover in foil and again sit it on top of the oven .
It's worked for me for the last two years, and I know if it breaks I'd buy another onetoday's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.
Living on my memories, making new ones.

I have a Panasonic combi microwave and would not have had anything else. I have never used the oven in my cooker. I use a steamer on the hot plate for veggies and as the fan runs to cool down the oven it's no problem using the microwave after the convection oven. I also use the grill. I think it's something you get used to. There are 2 shelves in mine. I love the fact that you can cook a large chicken in half the time it takes in a normal oven, and cooking it in an oven bag you contain all the juices. A baked spud takes 20 minutes and the skin is lovely and crisp. It also does great roast potatoes in the time you rest your meat for.0

i dont use my combi microwave either. Its a bit beyond me.:o. My cooker has a dual oven, a small oven (which i use most of the time) and a larger oven. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
