Please, ya know, like stop!

Very annoying when, ya know, folk keep saying, like, ya know, unnecessary words like, it's especially annoying in a, ya know, tv or radio interview like.
Please stop!

  • What about "so"? It seems to be the hip (and pointless) new way to start every sentence.

Or the use of the word "cool" in generally any context.

    Grinds my gears too.

"LIKE".... an incredibly annoying Americanism that has infected the young un's now. Some of them cant string a sentence together without saying "like" several times.

"I was like, so mad at him, like, he just like, doesnt know when to like....."

On reflection, possibly worse than the 'like', 'ya know' and 'cool' is pluralising (how's that for a word) you into youse, that really grates on the senses. This topic is making me wonder what speech abonomitations I'm guilty of.........

I came across a joke programming language definition once, for a "Californian" language.
Each statement was prefixed with the keyword "like" and terminated with the words "you know".
    Like x = 10 you know
