Exceeding credit limit?

Been accepted for a DIP with NatWest, but I've just been on ClearScore and found that in August last year I exceeded the limit on my credit card by £8. I've never missed a payment or anything like that, so I'm just wondering if this is looked upon as unfavourably as things like missed payments and defaults?

Comments

  • I'm no mortgage advisor but I doubt going over by £8 it will be that bad as long as you paid it back
  • Yeah I paid it back immediately plus a charge, and I've always made at least the minimum payment since. I just hope that doesn't go against me too much.
  • Anyone else know if this is enough to be declined for a mortgage?
  • That in isolation is unlikely to be a deal breaker, assuming the credit card wasn't with Natwest of course!

On a side note I wouldn't have much faith in the information Clearscore gives you. For something as important as this I would get a copy of your reports from Experian, Equifax and Call Credit to ensure you and your broker have the full picture.
