SIA License - Door supervisor.

I am wanting a job change and something I have thought about a few times is getting an SIA License for Door Supervision. The total cost for the course and the license is around £420, I just wondered if anybody on here has any experience of this and is it worth it?

I've looked around for Door supervisor jobs in my area and there are a few but are there loads of people going for them? Anybody with any experience or advice would be much appreciated, thank you

If you fancy getting abused every weekend then go for it. I've got my badge but am employed as a security guard and the training comes in handy.

Hi. I have my close protection (which includes door supervisor and security guard) and CCTV SIA badges.
You really won't have any trouble getting work bouncing/door man work As people constantly come and go.
If you get your security guard sia, it might be worth doing a crowd safety course (I don't know the exact name of it) so you can do music festivals in the summer and or stadium stewards for football and rugby etc etc.

I have my sia badge. I work at events during the summer and at football matches as well.

The work can be boring, it's long hours and pay isn't great but you'll get work without too much trouble.

I used to be licensed, but I let it expire. As others have said once you have the badge you generally won't struggle to find work opportunities as the churn is high.
