Advice needed

My ex husband & I have our own arrangement when it comes to child maintenance....my youngest who is autistic & is currently undergoing further assesments. He currently isn't in education & the LEA are dragging thier heels. There is no where in the county that can meet his needs & I am looking at residential college for him (will be 16 in April).

He will be coming home every weekend & holidays so where does my ex husband stand in paying maintence. He currently pays for our middle son who is in college & he gives £100 a month to our 21 year old as he is still in college with no part time job (has applied for loads)......he is always fair & he cant find the info so I thought I would try on here. Thanks for any sdvice

Well he'd still pay you IF you are going to be meeting any additional costs.

But if your 16 year old will be splitting time between you during the holidays etc then there would be very little to pay
  • He pays until your son leaves education or reaches the age of 20. Doesn't matter if the College he attends is residential in the same way that the non resident parent of a child who attends boarding school still has to pay.
Overactively underachieving for almost half a century
