Train question - Advance tickets

Hello everyone,
I'm a complete newbie to trains! Normally whenever I price up train tickets there in the £200's so when I saw I could get 2 adults and 1 child ticket from Newark to Kings X for £19 the night before we go to Disney I was buzzing
.. I booked the outgoing the day the advance tickets came out, now the day I need to return is higher than I wanted so now I'm thinking I shouldn't have been in such a hurry because it would have probably been cheaper in the car ooops!
My outgoing day is 7th May .. my return day would be Sat 13th May .. Monday 15th is showing as cheap and all the days around it, am I right to assume this is the lower saturday will ever be? or is there still hope for me.
Thanks in advance x

Have you tried splitting the journey at all?
Looking at the calling points I'd try from Peterborough or Stevenage first-you'll be able to stay on the same train so long as it's stopping at Stevenage, Peterborough and Grantham before you return to Newark. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
There will be a reason cheap fares aren't yet released for that weekend - engineering work could be being planned but not confirmed. If the timetable is going to be changed they can't sell service specific tickets.
Sign up to virgineastcoast and wait for the e-mail advising when the cheaper fares have been released.0 -
Yes - once the timetable is finalised the tickets for that day will be released.0

Try using https://raileasy.trainsplit.com/ to see whether there is a good 'split' option - you don't have to use the site to actually purchase the tickets.0

Advance tickets for that weekend hasn't been released yet (VTEC are currently up to the first weekend in May), if there is no issues with engineering works then the tickets should be released on Friday.
Both Virgin trains offer weekday tickets for sale upto 24 weeks so I can see your confusion at picking up the tickets for the 15th May0
