Aldermore mortgage ?
SLTW
I'm currently applying for a mortgage with Aldermore,
I've done all the documents and completed all the payslips, they have took details of my employer and said they may need a reference ?
Does anyone know what they will be in contact with me employer in regards to?
I've been working there for 4 months however the probation period is 6 months so currently in probation, slightly worried it may be declined on this basis ?
Can anyone give me any advice please

Look at the criteria lending guide, it says the applicant must be employed on a permanent basis. Being in a probationary period it is not permanent yet as far as I know.
I am not an expert but check the pdf file out and see if you meet all criteria. There is lending criteria for all of the lenders, but you will have to check their intermediaries' website.0 -
Interesting. I would class the position as permanent.
I am not sure if you need to have passed probationary before they would offer you a mortgage though, did you use a broker or apply directly? In either case I would have expected that to have been checked before making a full application.
Assuming they are ok with people in probationary (personally I think they are ok with that) then I do not think they will decline your application now you are at this stage.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I can only speak from my perspective because at my company everyonenis employed on permanent basis but probationary period is technically 'paid trial period'. At the end of my probation I recieved a letter said "I would like to inform you that your position as a HR Assistant (my role) has been confirmed and is now permanent" etc.0
