what happens when I've paid off a CCJ?

I've been down the DMP route with CCCS long before I found this forum and thanks to a legacy I managed to pay off all my debts except one. Nationwide had got the CCJ against me before I went to CCCs so we left it alone. I only owe them £420 now, if I pay the set amount it will be finished in October 2008. :D
WHat happens when it's finished? How do I repair my credit rating and is there any point in paying more off to finish it faster :confused: - I can't pay much more as OH is now out of work so we are reliant on my salary.

A CCJ will stay on your credit record for 6 years from the date of issue....I'm afraid it cannot be "paid off faster".

When you have finished paying the CCJ you can ask for the reference to it, in your credit file, to be marked as satisfied - This may automatically happen, but don't count on it. You might need a 'Certificate of Satisfaction' obtainable, at a fee, from the court.
Having the reference marked as 'satisfied', on your crf, does not mean that the entry will disappear from your file in less than the statutory 6 years, but any creditor, searching your file, will usually view a 'satisfied' entry in your favour.

If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
