I applied for Council tax rebanding.
After over a year now, I received a letter inviting me to a hearing by the Valuation Appeal Committee!
Anyone been to one of these?
What happens? I guess I need to present my case?
Any advice welcome!!

Have a read of their guidance manual - https://www.valuationtribunal.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/CTV-Appeal-Hearing.pdf
CraigI no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
I have been to over a 100, but I was working for the VOA. If you can give us some info about your case, can probably give you some useful tipsIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I can find similar houses around me, all on mix of band F and G.
If I plug the price I paid for the house into one of those sites that 'estimates the April 1991' price then it makes my house fall into the band F category.
My house was extended around 10 years ago by previous owners, we have been in it 1.5 yrs now. They reband when the house is sold on so thats why it has been put up to G.
There are only 2 houses on my street, mine and another worth about half a million! We are in same band.
I am getting a visit from an assessor tomorrow!
Any advice is welcome! Thanks!0
