Mortgage Application - Overtime and bonus

Hi,

I am filling out a Tesco mortgage application for a "DIP" and it asks about pay including overtime and bonus. The annual bonus is not guaranteed but for the past six years I have always received one (the amount varies). Would it be better to not mention it though? Also, since I changed jobs in June I always work overtime, although the amount varies, it is about £3,000 in total before tax so far for the past six months. I would expect that the overtime I do will reduce by March, but after that should earn at least £2000 extra per year through overtime. However, would it be better to not mention that?

EDIT: I should have added, I also receive (guaranteed) £62.57 per month towards the so-called employee benefits (e.g. medical insurance, pension, child care vouchers). This has actually just gone up since December. The amount shows up on my payslip separately. Should I combine it with my "basic pay" or just not mention it on the mortgage application?

Thank you all.

You can put it in. Sometime it's better to leave it out if you don't require it from an affordibilty point of view. They will only take 60% of guaranteed bonus/overtime into account anyway.
  • Thank you, ashp.

I decided to go for it and submitted the form (without OT or bonus) for a DIP to Teso Bank got it for the amount that I wanted. It was a lot quicker than I expected - a few seconds. But it is just a DIP, I guess.
