What about downsizing and living in the same area?

  • I've made the first payment into a SIPP of £2880 with HL and am now considering deferring my pension.
Can deferral be done at any time during the tax year?
    And
If I have deferred my pension and am therefore only receiving the very low income from my part time work, can I put more money into another SIPP, say equivalent to the amount of my pension, and receive the maximum 20% tax relief?

Yes, you can start to defer at any time in the tax year.

Your gross pension contributions each tax year can be either £3600 or your pay, whichever is higher. Pension income doesn't count.
