The U.K will either be a basket case with the Scots blaming the English for the mess or it will have been a huge success and only a fool would want to leave.
It could go either way but it will decide the union.
Whether Scotland is independent or not, whatever the outcome of Brexit, the Nats will always blame the English for all their ills.0 -

Why is it that whenever you are challenged to justify this assertion, you always fail to answer?0 -

I've answered it on numerous occasions.

Besides - the onus is really on you to justify why on earth you think it makes sense to swap free trade with our closest neighbour and the largest trading block in the world, with a ragtag assortment of trade deals that may or may not happen many years in the future half way across the globe.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Ah - just like the Brexiteers always blame the EU for all their ills.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I think there are slightly more than the two variables you cite.
You assume that the EU will carry on merrily as is, when in all likelihood there are major issues ahead for it to deal with, one of which may be a possible break up.
What if Scotland becomes an even bigger basket case within the UK Union and ergo becomes ever more reliant on the pooling and sharing of resources with the rUK?“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

If that means Scotland has to be worse off financially I'd still vote all day long for independence if it was the only way to achieve that.

Your lot voted for us all to become poorer.
Get off your high horse....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I won't waste my time looking because you've never answered. You can post links if you believe you have.
I don't have to justify anything. The EU is continuously showing that it is a sclerotic, undemocratic, protectionist club which is in terminal decline. Countries like Italy have had no economic growth to speak of this century. The euro is the direct cause of scandalously high youth unemployment rates in the Mediterranean countries. The idiots in Brussels fail to see that populism is the result of their stupidity in insisting that more Europe is the answer to everything.
The whole rotten structure is in danger of collapse and the likes of Juncker, Shultz and Tusk know this but haven't a clue what to do about it because the only thing that makes sense is to unwind Maastricht and Lisbon and revert to the Common Market. And they can't do that because they want full union by 2025 by which time the EU will be no more.0 -

And that's exactly what you seem to think is the solution for Scotland.0 -
I humbly invite the UK to become so prosperous that not only does Scotland not want to leave, but the EU decides to join it.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
