mortgage acceptance chances

Hi
Sorry posted in the house buying section as didn't realise this section existed but can't work out how to move it so re-posting

I am hopefully looking at purchasing a house in the next year (provided my next job placement is in the same region for 2 years which I'll find out in 2 weeks)

However, since I am a dr until now I have moved around the country annually so this isn't really going to help my credit rating

I currently have all of my letters/paperwork/bank details registered to my parents house since leaving university 3 years ago so I don't have to faff with changing all my addresses each year/mail redirections.

However, physically I have been in a new town every year, obviously all my household bills move are registered to my "physical address" but when applying for a new bank account I always struggle if I should put my "actual" address or "correspondence address" as I have evidence for living at both. I'm always on the council tax/electoral role wherever I'm staying for voting purposes so its all a bit all over the place.

This has already caused me issues taking out a new sim only phone contract for £10 a month, despite a £38k salary, zero debt (ignoring student loans) and £40k savings, so I can see it being an issue for mortgages also?

The other issue is the fact that although we are (hopefully) never going to be unemployed, we never get given a job contract for longer than a year as we always move regions, so from a mortgage companies POV this doesn't look ideal

Will this limit my ability to go with mainstream lenders or will I be stuck via brokers/the few specialist doctor mortgage companies?

Thanks a lot

You should be fine. Good decent jobs, lenders will be happy to take you on.

The amount of times you have moved may be an issue with some lenders, but I see no reason why you would not able to get normal high street rates.

thanks, from a lenders perspective am I better moving all my post and banking details and whatever around the country with me annually so everything matches up (albeit a pain in the neck when you try to apply for anything and then spent the next 40 mins trying to remember all my postcodes from Lincolnshire to Devon) or is can I justify myself by saying I'm lazy and would rather keep all post at one address except bills?

I'm just concerned regarding the never ending horror stories I hear from people a few more years along the career path than me so trying to damage limit as much as possible

If you are staying in one place for a year or so it's important you have everything registered to the same place where you are registered on the electoral role.

The moving itself probably won't cause you to many issues getting credit but if you are registered on the electoral role at one place and have your bank registered at another this will be an issue.

I would also suggest if you had issues with a contract phone/sim that you check the free credit reports, as you have moved around. It's not uncommon for a utility final bill or something to be accidently missed by people and end up with defaults on file which will cause many more issues. Best to check if you have not already.

meh its just a total ton of hassle I could really do without at short notice (as since I am trying to get the max interest I can I've got at least 8 bank accounts, let alone car v5/subscriptions/official documents like license to practice which I can't risk ending up at the wrong address.

I suppose I'll have to go down the post-redirection route but its just even more expense that's not particularly reliable I've found from past experience.

My car insurance renews in April but we move the first Weds of August annually so every year have to keep paying change of address fees annually, as no insurer seems willing to let me pay for a few extra months so that the renewal date can correspond with the moving date.

Heyho only another 10 years before I can apply for a job like a normal human being and not "rank the country get allocated a county somewhere"

My noodle account is fine at 625 green (though I'm sure it was in the 900s when I checked about 5 years ago?), nothing dodgy on it, it's only got me listed at my parents and my university house though. I've just closed an unused credit card to see if that helps in the future.

I'm registered on the electoral role at my parents still by the looks of noodle from back in my student days, I'll get that removed so not in 2 places at once from that perspective

    Thanks!

actually second thoughts, can I just get my council tax and broadband bills for where I'm currently living put into my parents address that would be faaarr easier as only a couple of things to move as water is included with rent and electric is key meter?
