So I'll be moving out of my property in about 4 weeks, which is around the same time that I'll be applying for my mortgage. However, I know that lenders require proof of your address when you apply.
I have a passport which is fine, but my driving licence expires next month so I have to renew it now. However, if I apply for the licence with my current address and then have to change it when I move, there's a chance that I won't have a valid form of address for when I apply for my mortgage.
Is it possible just to go into my bank, ask them to change my address and have them print a one-month statement with my new address on, then stamp and sign it to confirm it's valid? I know that my bank can do that, but it's whether a lender would be able to accept this.

Just realised this wouldn't be an option with the bank as I would have to wait for my next monthly statement to arrive to my new address.
So what usually happens in these situations when people change address at the time of applying for a mortgage? I'll be moving back in with my parents for a few months and I'm sure this must have happened before for lots of other people?0 -
Does anybody have any advice on this?0

Have you consulted a lender or a broker yet? They would be best placed to answer your questions as different lenders have different criteriaIt may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0

It's a while ago, but when I applied for my first mortgage I left my rented property and was a bit homeless for a while (not the recommended way to do it!!)
I just gave my address history and supplied another address for all postal communication (which changed, during my semi-homelessness, until I made it my work place address, to be sure I got everything!) I just made clear these were addresses for post only, and not where I lived. That was HSBC (I escaped them ASAP as I found the service appalling, but that's another story

Oh ok! So I wonder then if I explained that I'm in the process of changing my address, I can give them my bank statements to show where I previously lived (am living now) and then explain that I've recently moved in with my parents so don't have anything with that address on?0

I already have a DIP with NatWest which my broker did for me, and I assume he sent them my ID documents at the top, but obviously my address details will be changing while I'm applying for the mortgage. I've tried contacting my broker today but he didn't get back to me - I just hope this isn't going to be an issue!0
