"Cruise in a box" hamper type ideas

I know this thread is really old, but just wanted to say thanks to the OP who has inspired me to make a gift like this for my Nan's birthday (her birthday is on the 28th Dec) I'm organising a Cruise in a box for her as a birthday party kind of a thing. I've made a 'Cruise News' brochure just like the one she gets when she goes away telling her about all the stuff on offer - the 'Grandkids photo company', the farewell firework spectactular, onboard pamper service, captain's cocktail party and our very own cocktail bar - Tequila Sheila's (her name is Sheila and she likes a cocktail or 5 before they're all gone!:rotfl:)

I've sorted out a destination guide for each destination - we're visiting about 10 I think - I've searched the internet and found a cocktail to go with each destination and I'm currently on the lookout for really tacky things to go with the destination guide - keyrings, postcards as well as general tat.

It should be a laugh as she goes on so many cruises! I've roped my aunt into taking Nan out for the morning on a 'mystery drive' while I make over her house, it's going to be family only for the first bit of the day and then I'm inviting more people for the 'Captain's cocktail party' and 'farewell firework spectactular'.

aww no probs at all! i'd love to see a pic!!

I had to sadly spectacularly abandon the idea as we had to cancel the real holiday due to illness of the receiver of the gift and I thought it may seem a tad insensitive "sorry you arent going, have a fake one in a box instead!" - but hopefully will do it for another occasion or maybe next year's xmas!

You should rearrange the cruise in a box, it really is a lot of fun doing all the planning, just gotta hope it goes as well as I hope it will!
