This is the 3rd time I have tried to clear our debt!! This time I really have the Hubby on side so i'm hoping this time working together we can really get rid of it all!! We have done a snowball calculator and I think thats really helped to see that there can be a end date to it all!! Ive also done the SOA calculator but i didn't save it
so i'll have to do it again and get it copied over to here asap.
We have a LOT of debt! £35k  and lots is on Credit cards (25k!!)!! We have been very lucky to manage to get lots transferred to 0% balance transfers and the majority for 40 months! So hopefully that will help us to get it down a bit quicker.
We had some money that we were going to spend on a new sofa but we have managed to get a free one that will keep us going for a while so we are using the money to pay of some finance.
Just wanted to say hello and I hope that putting it on here might help us to keep on track!!

Why not post up an SOA to see if people on here can help with suggestions, and head over to the Old Style boards for advice on reducing household costs etc.
Good luckSome days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Thank you bargain betty. I have a paper copy as i wrote it down so it shouldn't take me long cowrite it out again and copy it onto here! Ill try and do it tonight when the kids have gone to bed.
We have just paid of some finance. 3 small ones that will free up £44 a month which we will put towards the next debt.
I have cancelled Sky. Saving another £44 a month (once I've paid for the 30 day notice)
I think we will also have a tiny bit left to pay from the sofa savings which I hope to pay of my next bill (£105) and pay back the FIL £100.
Today I have only given the eldest £1.50 for a school thing and the rest of the day should be a NSD.
Hubby is looking for extra overtime that we can then chuck at the debt.0 -
Do you know how you got to that level of unsecured debt? That is a first step, acknowledging the level of overspending and how long it has been going on and whether due to one off situations like redundancy, maternity leaves or overspending and then consolidating debt over many years?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
