Is there any way that you can increase your income on a more regular basis, as I feel that this is going to be vital to be able to get the equation nearere balancing!

Please don't think I'm being rude, but does your OH pay anything towards the mortgage? I'm slightly confused as to how you split your bills :o
Also, car tax and mot costs, birthdays/xmas, haricuts etc aren't listed ... how much do you spend on these per month?
Good luck and well done for posting

  • Hi thanks for replying, I pay for most things ie bills and mortgage because I am the main earner and he had huge debts of his own. I dont think this has helped me as I have had 6 months off work on maternity leave and lived off my cc.
    Thanks for the suggestions

Could you combine your phone and broadband at all? I pay £25 per month with talktalk and its for my phone and my broadband. Also there are those offers like virgin media where you can get your tv channels too if you can get out of your sky contract??

    1. do you rent or buying..if buying hpow much is the mortgage and how much is the house worth?

    2. if buying, is the house in joint ownership

    3. food..160.. is that the total spend for the family per month or is 320 spent per month

    4. do you spend anything on the following and if so how much
    a. car tax
    b. MOT
    c. RAC/AA
    d. estimate of servicing / repairs /new tyres etc.
    e. anything on socialising
    f. anything on xmas/presents/birthdays etc?
    g. anything on clothes
    h. anything on work lunches, coffees, newspapers, haircuts, etc

I ask these questions because it seems to me that you have no money to pay any debts, in fact you can't really afford to pay your 'normal ' bills.
