I found stock of these in my local Christies 99p shop

The shake torch uses no batteries or light bulb. Instead it utilizes Faraday's principle of induction and a super bright LED to generate light. The unit will shine for a few minutes after about 30 seconds of shaking. As the unit is shaken, a magnet passes through a metal coil generating electricity to power the torch. The unit requires no maintenance so it can be left in your home or vehicle for long periods of time and still ready to shine for you. Plus the LED will last for thousands of hours and will not burn out like a normal light bulb.
Brill to keep incase of powercuts. I use to worry that the battery run torch would either run out of battery or leaked and ruining the torch.
I am not sure if Christies 99p shops are only found in scotland or found all over. But i have googled these and one uk company sells a simalar torch at £26.99.
I found it hard to believe tat by simply shaking it would prove enough energy for it to light the led torch. So i left it over night to see. I have barly shaken it , and it is still going strong after on for:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: 10hrs . It has not dimmed at all. I am well pleased, make nice little xmas presents.
It comes in a balck box labeled " The new product come into the market , environment-protective torch for 21st century":T:T:T

Pah, they're a con.
Run the torch down to use up the coin batteries inside it, *then* try shaking it and see how much light you get out.0
