Flaw in comparison sites?
I used the cheap energy club and moneysupermarket and uswitch comparisons to find best deal as my fix is running out. I then got a quote for different fixes from my existing provider and they had what seems the best deal for me (esp as i'm v happy with them after having nightmares with scottish power and first utility). This is a half and half deal, one fix for gas and a separate fix for electricity. the comparison sites dont ever give this as an option do they, they just seem to have gas and elec on the same plan/fix if you say you want a quote for both fuels with a single provider. So worth checking out for fuels separately is all i'm saying.

Everyone is advised to try both dual-fuel and individual deals to see which produces the best result.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

I couldn't see that anywhere (I thought the asumption is it's always cheaper t get both on one deal), can you link it for me pls?0 -

thanks. That should be a separate tip, i'd probably just seen the heading of direct debit and assumed thats what the text was about.0 -
I use the comparison sites frequently and most of them ask you if you want gas, electricity or gas & electricity. So it's how you answer that question which should determine which tariffs you get offered.
I guess though that if your existing tariff is dual fuel then it will try and offer you a dual fuel.
We are all electric and so that's what I select and consequently dont see dual fuel offerings
It's certainly not a flaw in the comparison site, it's a flaw in the way you are trying to use it.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Hi kuepper,
On the Cheap Energy Club results page, you can filter your results to view either dual fuel tariffs or single fuel tariffs.
To do this, just look for the Fuel type section in the filters and you'll then be able to select the option to view dual fuel, gas only or electricity only tariffs.
We do also mention by this filter that it can be cheaper to switch to separate suppliers.
I hope this helps.
