HSBC Mortgage process problem

Did anyone apply lately for HSBC mortgage online?

I applied online and within 2 days got a call from their underwriting team that they approved my application and I paid for valuation. The valuation report came fine and they told me offer will be generated.

Then last 4 days they underwriting team says they can't generate the offer and blames mortgage team who blames underwriting team saying they are not uploading all documents.

In view of this, my online application status is showing "under review" and I can't see "Accept offer" button to accept the offer.

I have now been given 3-5 days for another team "investigating" the problem

Is it their normal behavior?
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

I bank with HSBC and had read they can be a bit of a nightmare with mortgage applications. I decided to look elsewhere.

Best of luck I'm sure it will get sorted!

    Same firm/process/underwriters, I believe.

I used both 9 months ago.

First Direct took a few weeks for my application to be even set up. Then arranging a call with an advisor was going to be another couple of weeks. All in all it was going to take an additional 4 weeks to even arrange anything - after waiting 2 weeks starting my application. I then cancelled.

HSBC I booked an appointment for their 1 day service, which was 5 days later. I went in for a couple of hours with all my items (bank slips, statements, copy of the property info etc.) and the next day the mortgage was approved depending on survey and a couple of days later survey booked.

I do bank with HSBC so I am not sure if this helped in the process.

I am going through a remortgage with HSBC and they have been great. I did everything online. They called me to question a transaction on my bank statement but other than that have been great. You can upload all the documents online without posting anything and they have been quick to review. I dont bank with HSBC.

I know they are known for being picky however i have not seen that and wouldnt say i was the perfect customer (debt, gambling transactions etc etc)
