P45

I have recently come back to my previous employer as the new job I took on didn't go as well as I expected. The only thing is I am still waiting for my P45 of my last employer. I read somewhere that they no longer use P46s and if I don't have my P45 in the meantime I can just give my new employer the following information....is
correct ?

    [*]date of birth
    [*]gender
    [*]full address
    [*]start date
    [*]full name
[*]leaving date from their last job
[*]total pay and tax paid to date for the current tax year
    [*]student loan deduction status
    [*]National Insurance number
    [*]existing tax code

I have all this information at hand anyway. Thanks for your advice in advance

    • I have gone back too, the employer just re issued everything from
Offer letter to new starter checklist to be filled in.

Took a couple of weeks but I've just checked my mailbox and see they posted rather then hand it out during the working day.

It's not called a P46 any more, but it asks for pretty much the same information as used to be on the P46. Google HMRC New Starter Checklist and you should find it, if the 'new' employer doesn't give you one.

Then hand in the P45 when that arrives.
