Dresses for size 30

Im having a real bad time trying to find a bridesmaid dress for one of my BM, I have recently found out she was size 30. She's extremely self conscious about her weight and was hoping to find an ALine or Empire dress.

I have searched high and low and can not find anything even slightly BM-esque and also went to a dress maker who quoted me £450!!!

I really want her to be part of this but I can't think of anywhere else to check, I only have a couple of months - eBay Chinese sellers don't go further than "30" where the measurements are for a size 26 and Simply Be etc don't have any flattering outfits.

Any suggestions would be extremely helpful

What kind of dress were you looking for OP?

There's a site I buy from occasionally that makes made to order clothing very reasonably priced, with only a small extra charge for larger sizes.

It's all pretty gothic in style but as it's made to order you can ask them to tweak a design to suit you.

Couldn't you leave her to do the searching and then run anything she thinks suitable past you?

SimplyBe usually has a good size 30 options. I have a friend with a similar figure who gets most of her clothes from there.

Surely there is a local dressmaker who can make something for a cheaper amount?

Maybe if she's self conscious she would not want to be centre of attention anyway?

Being that size myself, i have been brdesmaid and ordered from Simply be also hade lovely dress from ebay think it was under £30 search Cherlone many different ones come up , i have size 28 in them due to them having elasticated bust . Good Luck x

You might have look here: Fashion World (JD Williams ) and especially Joanna Hope- some very 'dressy' dresses which might be suitable including some lacy ones . The beaded kind not cheap!!

Florentyna dawn on the web was the first place that sprang to mind, they go up to a size 50. They have some beautiful dresses and whilst they are under mother of the bride I think some would be very suitable for bm dresses for a larger lady. Some are very expensive but some are in the sale. They might just give your friend an idea of what style she may like. I just thought that the cut of their dresses are so different and not frumpy looking. I haven't actually shopped here because I got mine from chesca but they only go up to a 24.
