3 months on....

It's now over 3 months from my OR interview and, like many other posters on this forum, I have heard nothing- as expected I guess
The one potential issue surrounds my previous home which was sold 18 months ago with the proceeds going to my ex to buy somewhere new for her and my kids, with my blessing of course. The OR loosely implied they might look into the disposal as half of the proceeds would have cleared significant creditors.
I am not overly concerned as it's fairly watertight and legal advice has confirmed this, however I am in as amicable a space with my ex as I've been for some time, to the huge benefit of our kids, and I'm concerned any bombshells might disturb this, despite the likely outcome being ok.

Any insights into how long it may take before I can breathe again would be gratefully received, I appreciate its a classic 'how long is a piece of string' question so really looking for the experience of others, are there any signs that they are digging into it? They asked for the conveyancing solicitors details (at my interview) but to my knowledge haven't contacted them yet.

I am aware, through a friendly creditor, that they have contacted creditors specifying no realistic distribution of funds, but it also said enquiries into the house sale were ongoing, which seemed a bit contradictory to me-that was 2 months ago-nothing since

Any pointers?
As always thanks in advance

As the old saying goes, no news is good news.

That aside, it's known that if the OR needs to contact you - they will do it in good time over the phone and won't hold off from it. At the same time I know that they have a very busy schedule as well from dealing with them myself but I would of thought that if they really needed to contact you - they would of done so by now.

There's not a great deal you can do in the meantime, just wait it out as you're bound to hear something either way if developments are in the works. Have they even arranged an IPA with yourself at all or informed you regarding an IPA decision? The time of me going BR to having my NT tax IPA arranged was all dealt within a matter of weeks. Since they referred my case over to the IPA team I haven't heard a peep from my OR what so ever, and that was back in August.

  • Thanks Lek, no IPA as I wasn't working at the time of bankruptcy/OR interview-I've since taken some consultancy work and informed the OR via a brief email (as advised by the forum)

If anyone out there has specific experiences relating to other outstanding issues from the interview, I.e not IPA related, (which I suspect is relatively straightforward for them and they deal with it quite quickly) I would love to hear them

I am afraid it is the 'how long is a piece of string?' scenario. It depends on so many different minutae which will be different for every person, every BR. It can be the difference of how long a letter takes to get from one person to the next, how long someone takes to sign a piece of paper because maybe it's at the bottom of the pile of things or they are off ill etc.

I am afraid you are going to have to sit tight and wait it out. What ever happens it needs to be done before you are discharged.

  • Thanks Tiger, I suspected as such
Any thoughts on the rather contradictory letter to creditors I mentioned is my 1st post on this thread?
