firstly who is calling you? Have you asked them to contact you? If not that is cold calling and is strictly forbidden under the rules that regulate our industry.
your mortgage is safe so do not panic - is there any reason why you think you need to change your mortgageI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. The guy callin is from a mortgage broker, they set up the mortgage for us a few years ago and he said they have been told by the bank of England to move as many people as poss b4 the end of sept. No we don't want to move we want to see what happens with N.R0

That is an outright lie and he ought to be reported for saying that. indeed, if he is remortgaging people away from NR with penalties to pay then he seriously needs reporting as that is disgraceful.he said they have been told by the bank of England to move as many people as poss b4 the end of septI am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). So they have kept your details from a few years ago - nothing wrong with that
but what they said is wrong.
do you have a deal ending?0 -
what a load of rubbish. I would not be using them again if they can blatantly lie like this...I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. is this correct?
because we are being harassed by some *u*** calling from India claiming to be working for a company called 'UK finance'. usually claim to represent all UK banks blah blah. then offer to get their broker to call. Every time I tell them to take our number of their list. Usually get called 3/4 times a week.
I've tried preference service etc without luck.0 -
Yes it is very much true. Cold Calling is something that seems to be rearing its little head again though. Thats why you wont find a mortgage broker going door knocking or brokers picking the local bt directory up and just start ringing numbers.
Get them to give you the fsa registration number or get the broker to call, ask them for their FSA registration number.
You can then look them up on the register to see if they are a legit company and report them to the FSA after telling them what cowboys they are employing!I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
