I'm an avid user of - and reviewer for - TripAdvisor, particularly as I travel a fair bit on business.
I've just noticed I have collected lots of points, not got a clue what to do with them or even if there is any value to them. Has anyone OSer actually benefited from a TripAdvisor points?

The TA points system, introduced in 2015, is meant to be 'fun' but they have no value. To quote one poster "The new "TripCollective" points are worthless...even less than the GOLD star that you got in grammar school."

I see it as a poorly thought-out gimmick - most people contribute to TA to help other travellers, not to build a larger points score.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
