Technically, if you win it won't be free though. You're looking at £30,000 for stamp duty for a start.

I always thought anything where you had to pay a price to enter, would be classed as gambling (free route or not) and would require a license.

    I'm steering clear anyway.

I believe the stamp duty is included (although if you paid £2 for it there wouldn't be any due, same as none due on a free entry if one won)

An appropriate free entry route is there so it is not classed as gambling and need a licence - same as ITV, Bauer etc

That's an interesting point! Stamp duty could be based on the single ticket price OR the total of all tickets sold:eek:. See here for more info -

It's included in the "expenses" whichever way it's worked out (even for a very quick sale the place could be sold on for far more than the stamp duty anyway)

I have just emailed the people running this comp and asked about the stamp duty, the following is their reply -

"Many thanks for your interest, we are absolutely overwhelmed by the response!

Regarding stamp duty, we would cover that as part of the competition.

Sorry for the short reply we are being inundated with emails

    Best regards from us all
    Dunstan & family"

  • Apparently they have had over 133,000 paid entries in first 6 days!
