Hi does anyone know where you can get your child assessed for dyslexia?? Privately as the school does not warrant him bad enough to get assessed by the school. Thanks

I can't recommend any individual but you will be looking for an child/educational psychologist - if you google that for N.Ireland you will get several options.

Ask your GP for a recommendation. I paid £380 to have a full ed psych assessment done before Christmas. Your GP should be able to make a recommendation and then you can contact them directly.

Schools don't assess children, educational psychologists do for around £350-400.

We took our son to a specialist optician recommended by a parent of another child at school.

My son was assessed some years ago - it was a very in-depth session and was very enlightening. It showed that while there were particular areas that gave him problems, he was also very good at other things.
