Holiday entitlement for 37.5 work week

I thought the annual holiday entitlement was 20 days plus 8 days for Bank Holidays as standard.
My boss mentioned last year he uses the NHS calculation for Bank Holidays. Didn't go into what that was.
So as there are only 6 Bank Holidays this in 2016/17, has he got a point?
Early May bank holiday (2nd May)
Spring bank holiday (30th May)
Summer bank holiday (29th August)
Boxing Day (26th December)
Christmas Day (25th, substitute day: 27th December)
Jan 2nd NYD Substitute
My collegues work 40 hours and I do 37.5, so not sure whether I should be getting the same. Nothing in my contract to say otherwise.

Entitlement is 28 days per annum which can include bank holidays. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

You could try and calculate it here with the Government's tool?
In my retail job I work part time, three nights a week and am currently entitled to 16 days' holiday a year including five bank holidays-my previous employer gave me 28 days' a year including eight bank holidays. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
What about good Friday & Easter Monday? They aren't on your list.0

Assuming you work 5 day weeks, you are entitled to a minimum of 28 days a year - the date of Easter does not remove this right. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Exactly.
A lot of people seem to fail to understand that bank holidays are completely irrelevant as far as the statutory entitlement to 28 days holiday is concerned.
You must be allowed to take 28 days per year, when you would otherwise have been working, as paid holiday.
Your employer can almost totally dictate when you can and cannot take your holiday. If the firm is closed on bank holidays then they are, in effect, dictating that you take those days as part of your holiday. However, some firms are at their busiest on bank holidays and need all their staff working so they may insist you take holiday at a different time.
It would be perfectly lawful for a firm to close for 5.6 weeks per year and allow no other holiday at all. OK, they may struggle to recruit staff but that is another matter!0 -
I was merely stating that z1a was asking about easter bank holiday in the 16/17 holiday year - but there isn't any. I was clarifying for the OP.0

we can stop there.
Statutory holidays have been 5.6 weeks for a number of years.
For a 5(equal) days a week worker that is 28 days.
fix that first.
For any company that uses a holiday year that starts/ends within the Easter window they have issues if they use a X+BH as the number of holidays will be variable.0 -

You are getting short changed, working 3 days a week gives an entitlement of 16.8 days minimum which can be rounded up but not downBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0
