Having a "dry spell" and losing my umph!

I did rather/very well when I started comping, and relatively quickly. I won a toaster, gaming headphones, hair brush bundle, cakes, bedding..and more. But I've now got into a slump where I didn't win anything for a few weeks and now I'm almost loathing to enter because I feel like I've "used up my luck" ...has anyone else had this?
I KNOW comping is meant to be about the fun of doing it, but I just feel like I need some cheerleaders to get me back into it lol! Especially as entering about 1000+ comps a day did take a lot of time!!!

We all have dry spells, but if you've reached a point where you're getting no enjoyment from entering why not take a break for a little while?
It really can feel like a chore to keep ploughing through when your luck seems to have dried up!
Hope things pick up for you soon xLiving thriftilymost of the time

I completely understand where you are coming from and it is disheartening if you don't win something for awhile.
It may be worth focusing more time to competitions with lower entries (so avoid click to wins, Twitter retweets etc.) and focus more on effort competitions or those that are on smaller Facebook pages, competitions local to your area or ones with multiple prizes or local collection.
Quizonaut and Good Reads often get regular wins.
A couple of weeks isn't actually that bad, some compers haven't won anything in months or years, you'll be winning something soon enough! If you do feel it is becoming a chore, take a small break from comping and come back when and if you feel ready and wanting.
Best of Luck!Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -
It's harder to win than it used to be, I used to win around 20 prizes a month years ago now its maybe 4 or 5 small things.
You've gotta be in it to win it though.. I won quite a bit when I first started doing social media comps, then once my page was filled with comps I stopped winning but thats just one of my theorys lol. Most of my wins come from Rafflecopter... but as I have kids I think that opens some comps for me that have a few less entries, most of the things I win are for my kids.
I do love doing it thoughand love this forum it keeps me busy esp at times I am feeling really low which for me is unfortunately quite often..
I enter expecting not to win, I did give it up for a while but I have more time on my hands at the momentThanks to everyone that posts :T:money:

definitely getting harder to win!
what disheartens me the most is when you see the same person winning over and over again!
but that is life and life is crazy!
i find doing comps relaxing and anything i win is just a bonus! focusing on wins only leads to misery , for example despite trying amillion times i still have no soup mug lol0 -
I was gonna say You might find you start not winning as much because you become a bit more selective about what you enter after time but if you're entering 1000+ a day (I still don't see how this is possible) then, maybe not.0

Are your 1000+ entries for 1000+ DIFFERENT competitions or multiple entries for the same competitions eg Click and win, Mag dailies? I would count 10 entries each for 100 competitions as entering only 100 competitions, but reducing the odds (slightly) of winning; you get to the point of diminishing returns where you would have a better chance of winning by entering once for a new competition than the 100th entry for an existing one.
Not to depress you, but I had a period of 3 years without winning anything at all not even a plastic apron or a pen. Then won a car. Enter and forget is the best principle.0 -
I enter and forget. I don't have time to dedicate loads of time to comping so I do an hour a night when I finish work and thats it. I don't do daily entries unless its something I REALLY want to win. 1 entry into each competition is enough for me, if I'm meant to win it, i'll win
There was a rafflecopter competition I entered last year to win about £250, there were 50,000 entries in the rafflecopter widget with approximately 50 various entry methods to gain extra entries. I done 2 entries out of the 50 available and they were just 2 twitter follows, and I won. If its meant to be its meant to be so I don't worry about it. You are probably getting disheartened because you are putting so much effort into it and getting nothing back. Maybe reduce the amount of competitions you enter and it won't seem so bad?0
