Argghh! Red carded while I'm home

Don't you just hate it when you get a red card and you're actually at home. The ruddy postman just can't be bothered to ring the bell
It's a letter that needs to be signed for and I haven't a clue what it is ?? Hope it's a prize or something good to warrant the 8 mile return trip to the post office

I hate that when that happens, luckily we have a lovely postman and it is usually the same guy, someone left off our house number before but he recognised my name (That must tell you something!) so he bought it to us.

Phone the post office and complain, sometimes they send them back to deliver it or can get it delivered tomorrow. That will save you a trip.
Fingers crossed it is a good prize. :D
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.

This drives me bonkers! Not our regular postie, but last week I heard some post drop onto the mat so I headed to the door, could see someone was still there through the frosted glass. So I just waited, and then a red card pops through, no knock at the door, and she didn't use the doorbell! I opened the door and she's standing there with the parcel, so I really have no idea why she didn't knock or ring! This has happened a few times when I've been in, but this is the first time I've actually witnessed it. Usually I just find a red card that stealth-postie has managed to get through unnoticed!

  • I have missed a delivery when I was in the kitchen with the radio on and the extractor fan running - I didn't hear them buzz my flat and found a red card in the letterbox downstairs later - very frustrating.

Another time I was out and I didn't know they had tried to deliver until I looked online wondering where my parcel had got to - the idiot who tried to deliver didn't see the letterboxs to the side of the front door to the block so didn't leave a card.

it's even worse for those of you who have posties who don't even bother trying!
