Advance ticket question

I need to buy a ticket to travel to Leicester from Basildon on the 7th February. ObviouslyAdvance tickets are the cheapest. However due to the upcoming Tube strikes I don't want to commit myself to a particualar route as yet as depenging on if the strikes will go ahead or not I will be chosing a longer route where I can avoid the tube.
I am however concious that the advance tickets will not be available by the time it will be clear if the strikes will or will not go ahead.
So I was wondering if anyone her knew how long before the day of the journey the advance tickets are withdrawn from sale?
