First Time Buyer - Shared Ownership & Mortgage Application Worries

Comments

  • Hi Kingstreet,

Yes. Housing association done the government one with me and i declared my outgoings and income. They said i can afford 59% but they only do multiple of 5 so they push it down to 55%. They make me maximise the share so thats the number I gotta go with. It is a resale, purpose built in 2010, 99 year lease etc.
  • So... I rang broker and they said apparently my application has paased the stage of credit check and Leeds has not even requested for anything else. So it should all be ok...he said i dont even need to cross my fingers.... I guess theres not a lot of point worrying now it has come this far. If it messes up it messes up. Will be expensive lesson at least.

    nice, good luck
But the banks are made of marble,
With a guard at every door,
And the vaults are stuffed with silver,
    That the farmer sweated for.

    Thank you :)

I rang Leeds today and they said 'we don't need anything else, the first assessment was completed yesterday and valuation/survey booked on 8th.' They also said it will take around 4-5 days after valuation taking place to assess + offer... I just hope now that the valuation comes back good, most likely it will be because the purchase price £138k is the based on the valuation the HA did in Jan 2017. :)

Going through a broker who deals with Leeds often but yeah I've heard all sorts of time lines when using Leeds from 4 weeks to 9 months....
