I owe £5200 on a Barclays loan. Would they accept £4500 to settle it now?

How far in arrears are you? Have you defaulted or just behind with payments?0

I've been making the payments but want to pay the loan off before I apply for a mortgage. I thought I only had a certain amount left so saved up that, then found out I owed more.0

So you think a mortgage company would lend you money, after you just stiffed Barclays out of £700? Is this a joke?0

Defaulting on a loan just before applying for a mortgage would be spectacularly bad.0 -
I'm sorry no it's not. I was just asking a question. I obviously don't know, hence me asking on here.0

Ah right ok, sorry I didn't know that's what it was called. Thanks though.0 -
It won't go against me if I pay the full amount back will it?0

No. That's what you're supposed to do with loans.0

I know, I just meant in a lump sum rather than the monthly repayments.0

Nothing wrong with it at all.0
