I was looking at joining Bannatyne and their signup page says "Membership of a club allows you to use any club in a lower or equal cost tier"

https://bannatyne-services.brightlime.com/onlinesignup/

I thought it might be useful to sign up for a higher tier in case I'm traveling and would like to use one and was surprised to find that the higher tier gyms are actually cheaper.

In that case isn't it better to sign up for the cheapo gym and then go to the posh one? Or have I missed something?

Edit: Got it now, just read their T&C which states tier 1 is the highest tier and 9 is the lowest. I hope they use the same logic if they increase my membership fees.

There is nothing odd about that. After all premium is associated with first class (ie connected to 1). Second class is not so good and is associated with 2 etc.
  • Funnily enough loads of people had been signing up to a further cheaper one and going to their local instead for years, that's why they brought in the tiers in the first place.
