Any experience/Advice of getting a Default taken off credit report

HI there
I am after some advice please?
I paid off a loan almost 2 years ago, with HSBC. At the time I was going through a debt management plan, so Metropolitan services were taking the payments on behalf of HSBC..
About a year and half ago I checked my Credit report and it said that I had defaulted and still owed 3K.. So I rang up to double check and confirm, they confirmed that all is paid off and that they would send a message to the relevant department to get a note put on my credit report.
So fast forward to today - check my credit report and the default is still there.. Rang Metro again and they said the same as last time .. I said to them "That's what you said last time and 2 years later its still there"...
Can anyone advise me how to go about getting this changed.. Can I complain to anyone, as obviously this is effecting my credit report and I want to apply for a mortgate.. No one is going to lend me money if this default does not get taken off..
Thanks in Advance.

There's a fair chance all of the credit reference agencies will be showing the default, check them all.
Experian 0344 481 0800
Equifax 0845 603 3000
Call Credit 0113 388 4300I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -
If you were on a DMP, HSBC will have most likely defaulted as you failed to hit minimum payment. As in terms out the value outstanding, use resolver here to complain and if nothing send it to the ombudsman. Have you got a letter that shows the account is paid and closed, etc? If not request one and see what it says.Debt As Of 19/3/2021: £16,973 | Current Debt: £9,322 | 54.9% Repaid0

A deault will stay on your credit file for 6 years, from the date of deafault. It won't vanish once the debt is paid.
Best you can hope for is it's marked satisfied, and then you have to wait for it to drop off.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
