advice needed

Currently reducing visiting weekends, (live different end of country) and therefore we are increasing csa amount payment, due to health and child less in need of support as teenager now 17. Q: is CSA the minimum amount, and is it considered a fair amount to give to ex? Ex unwell and has less benefits and we feel always wants more money, is bitter and complains to children. Therefore we find sticking to csa guidelines helpful. Any advice?

You don't have to pay any more than what the CSA says you have to pay.

Your ex needs to take into account that the 17 year old may only be a few years from leaving education and therefore all child support and any child benefits will stop and to start thinking how they will support themselves when this happens.

If unwell they may be able to claim other benefits.

You only have to pay the CSA amount.

The money is to support the CHILD not the lifestyle of the other parent, unwell or not.
  • Agree. PWCs state of health isn't your concern.
