Herbiesjp - thanks very much for the advice - yes I thought the same about the arrangement fees. So am I right in thinking the best way would be to just re-mortgage with my current lendor Abbey (with the best deal they offer) as their fee is only £75? or just get the best fixed rate/discount deal elsewhere? (sorry if this sounds confusing!)
At the moment I've finished my discounted rate and am on the standard variable - but with all the interest rate rises I was trying to get it down and not get any higher!!0 -

It depends on your attitude to risk - ie are you concerned about any possible rate rises.
