It pays to complain

Just come off the phone with a mobile provider and 40 quid is winging its way to me (10 days).
This is the result of several weeks emails, and pointing out the fact that once the term of a contract expires then the T&C expire with it.
Notable comment of "Im an IT contractor, when my contract expires i dont say to the client i want 30 days notice pay", eventually i was getting a refund, which i thought was half of what im getting.
Add this to my 50 quid quidco earnings, and octobers looking like a good month
Remember, keep complaining!

:j Ooooh, some good news! Good on you Kevicho. Can I just ask is this about the fact that you sign up for a 12 month contract and then when it expires, they want you to pay for another month as notice?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

I love complaining, me.
Favourite notable comment, to Telewest (arguing about when I paid my bill):
Them: "Sir, you have the services, you have to pay for them on time. When you go to the garage for petrol, you don't pay for it the week after, do you?"
Me: "Those charges are advance charges. To use your own analogy, I don't go into the petrol station and say 'I'd like to go to York next weekend, here's £50'."
That shut 'em up.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Yep, basically, id been a customer for 6 years and they wanted to double my monthly bill and cut my text allowance.
Took me 7 weeks to cancel (all out of contract length)
The most annoying thing was they didnt even let me know it had expired as well, i mistakenly thought it was due for renewal the month after0 -

im having trouble with AOL - basically the 'always-on' broadband connection i pay for is never working at evenings/weekends. i know its cos its busy and all that - but do you have any idea what i could say to complain to them?0 -

The words you're looking for are: "I wish to cancel. You are not providing me with the service I pay for."
Then do it. Cancel & switch provider. AOHell are nothing short of abysmal. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Hear hear!!
I recently complained at Asda when I found a bug in a packet of nachos. They rang me a couple of days later tosay they couldn't report it as 'did you know they are out of date?'. I said 'I still don't think that excuses there being a bug in them, do you? If you can't report it, I'll see what Environmental Health think'. She then miraculously was able to report it. :rotfl:
Anyway, long story short, I received a letter last week with an apology letter and a £3 shopping voucher. THREE MEASLY POUNDS!! Now, I didn't complain to get anything other than an apology, but I think if I was going to give someone a shopping voucer for something so disgusting it would be more than £3!!GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

I complained to Muller Yogurts cos one of my yogurts in a six pack was off. They sent me £5 voucher! How nice!
I emailed 02 the other day telling them their service at the moment is utterly dire. They gifted me with £20 the next day!0 -
I love complaining too! I havent had complaint (bar an ongoing fiasco with Npower, who I will be billing if I ever have to contact them again!) recently - but I do love to do it if I get the chance! Congratulations kevicho - well done!

I complained to virgin when they compleatly cocked up my mort & they sent me £35 debs voucher...spendahoic I would find out who senior management are, write in formally & say that you were less than impressed with the way the matter was dealt with and that £3 in the circumstances is downright offensive! BUT I also make a point of saying thank you in respect of staff who are good. A woman in M&S was fab the other day so I found manager & told them what a great example she was! Made me feel great!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0
