remortgaging with the same lender on a DMP

Hi, just wondering if lenders carry out credit checks on product changes with the same lender?, my 2 yr mortgage comes to an end in July and I was wondering if this will affect me getting a product change with the same lender?.

Depends on the lender, mine didn't, and was no problem with a new deal

Mine was fine. Had defaulted card with them and others that they knew about and still were fine to switch products for me

  • Hi,

I remortgaged with NatWest no problem. I also had a defaulted card with them.

Technically a "remortgage" is when you move your mortgage to a different lender.

If you are just switching deals with your existing lender (with no additional borrowing), you will not be credit checked.

    Hi,

I remortgaged with NatWest no problem. I also had a defaulted card with them.

Did you have any luck getting Natwest to adjust the valuation of your property without you having to pay?
  • I did manage to change products but at a cost as they increased my rate from 1.59% to 4.29%, is there anything I can do about this?. they mentioned they noticed a default on my files.

4.29% sounds like standard variable rate, not changing to a new product.
