Owed Wages

Hello
A long story short is that I handed my notice at my old job and was told I could leave there and then.
I was told my wages would go into my bank account on the payday as normal ( I recorded the conversation) and guess what they didn't.
After a phone call to them I was assured they would transfer me them but was told it would be Monday/Tuesday that they would be in my bank account... My bank allows me to view pending transactions for the following day so they wont be in tomorrow and I have a feeling that tomorrow morning they wont show up as pending for the next day...
What should I do if that's the case? because they really hold the power at the moment and it's causing a lot of distress and lets not forget going to put me into financial hardship if the moneys not in by the 03rd..
Advice would be appreciated..
Thanks

You don't give dates, but yes you can pursue the matter (letter of claim then issuing in the County Court).
I'd still suggest waiting 'til Monday afternoon, as whilst some banks (eg RBS, NatWest, etc) do show Monday credits and debits on a Saturday, some transfers do not credit until the Monday @ 4.30pm.
At this stage, you're best simply sending a firm but polite email to HR or a Director of the firm, confirming the breach and requesting payment within days. They'll be potentially liable for any consequential losses - such as bank charges etc - you suffer as a result of owed wages being paid late. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0 -
Write or email to HR (o whoever is in charge of payroll)ccd to your own manager
"Dear [names]
I am contacting you as I have not reiceved by wages for the period [date] to [date].
I handed in my notice on [date]. I was of course willing to work out my notice period, however, [name of person you spoke to] told me that you did not ant me to work my notice period and instructed me not to come into work. [Name] confirmed to me that my wages would be paid onpayday as normal. However, having chacked my bank account I have not recived my wages.
Pelae arrange for payment of my full wages for the period [dates from alst pay to end of notice period] to be paid as a matter of urgency. I look forward to hearing back from you no later than 12 noon tomorrow"
If you have built yup more holiday than you have taken then you can add in after the days covered "plus the holiday pay due to me for my untaken holiday days"
Keep it police and if you don't hear anything, then followup with a formal letter before action.
Don't foget to ask for you P45 as well if you have not had that. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
Hello
A long story short is that I handed my notice at my old job and was told I could leave there and then. - Verbally or in writing?
I was told my wages would go into my bank account on the payday as normal ( I recorded the conversation) and guess what they didn't. - You'll need to transcribe this, as recordings are very rarely admissible. Transcripts more so, at judges discretion.

You'd need to go to court.0
