Arbonne - do I need to register with the tax man?

Apologies if this has been discussed previously but I'm on the verge of signing up to be an Arbonne Independent Consultant and wondering about tax. One of the first questions I asked the area manager was of I'd need to register for/pay tax as I already work full time. She said only if I earn more than £10k a year with Arbonne. Someone else has said because I already earn more than £10k in my day job I'd definitely have to pay tax on any additional income. Just want to know before I start, I don't even know where to begin!
Thanks x

Yes you will need to register as self employed with HMRC and complete self assessment returns in future. If your PAYE job already uses all your personal allowances then all your Arbonne profit (that's income after expenses) will be taxable.
I wouldn't trust your local rep to explain that to you as they are just desperate to get more people into their group to make more money.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
