The following terms set out the agreement between you and us for your application to be considered for a free 3 bedroom property in Preston. Further terms and conditions, as well as applicable rules, regulations and guidelines may apply and we reserve the right to amend them at any time without notice to you.

You must be aged 18 years or over to apply.
By applying you understand and agree that the process of giving away the property is being followed for a Channel 4 programme which we propose but do not undertake to produce. If you are not willing to appear in the programme. your application cannot be considered. Prior to being filmed for the programme you will be required to sign an additional agreement to give us the necessary permission for such filming and inclusion in the programme Great Big Property Giveaway’ (working title).


“The Great Big Property Giveaway” (w/t) is a 60’ programme for Channel 4. It follows a landlord Marco Robinson who owns multiple properties but who has now decided to give away one of his flats for free. The film will follow the landlord as he searches for the person to whom he wants to give the flat and will culminate with him handing over the keys of the property to the successful recipient.



Unless otherwise stated you must be (a) a permanent legal resident in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, and must currently be living in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.
You must not be (a) currently employed or have been previously employed by Boomerang or the Broadcaster, (b) the live-in partner or immediate relative (mother, father, son, daughter, brother or sister) of an employee of Boomerang or the Broadcaster, or (c) sufficiently connected with the Programme so that your participation in the Programme could create the appearance of impropriety (unless otherwise approved by us).
There is only one 3 bedroomed property in Preston to be given away. There is no cash alternative or equivalent available. The decision as to who will be the recipient of the property will be decided by the current owner entirely at their discretion. Any matters relating to the property and its transfer will be between the current owner of the property and the chosen recipient. Neither Boomerang nor Channel 4 are party to that contract or contracts, nor will they be liable for any matters relating to them or the property.
Once the current owner has decided who will be the recipient of the property then that person will be permitted to live in the property rent free for up to a 12 month period according to a tenancy agreement between the current owner and the chosen recipient and subject to any terms and conditions imposed by such tenancy agreement. Following the expiry of the 12 month period the property will be transferred at the landlord’s discretion to the recipient as long as the tenancy (or other) agreement with the landlord has been complied with, including the following conditions:
The property has not been sub-let during the 12 month period;
The Property has not damaged beyond expected levels of wear and tear during the 12 month period;
There have been no serious, substantiated complaints from neighbours in relation to the use of the property during the 12 month period;
No crimes have been committed in relation to the property during the 12 month period;
The property has not been used for illegal purposes during the 12 month period.

You acknowledge that failure to comply with these conditions and the tenancy (or other) agreement with the landlord may result in eviction from the property and the property not being transferred as a result.

We may carry out background and health checks on you as we deem appropriate, including but not limited to DBS checks, bankruptcy checks and medical (including psychological) examinations.
You are required to provide complete, valid, correct and up-to-date information. Failure to provide such information will result in your information being invalid, and you will not be considered. We do not guarantee that all persons who have contacted us will be contacted.
The closing date and time for submitting applications is as stated in the relevant promotion. We may change the closing date and time at any time in our sole discretion and without notice to you. If you submit an application after the closing date and time, or the information and/or material you provide is incomprehensible, misleading, incomplete, incorrectly addressed, lost in transit, or not received, you will not be considered
Where we indicate that you are required to provide material including, and without limitation, photographs, film and/or video, such material will only be accepted if it is solely your work as the person submitting that material, and such material should not include third party images or third party material and/or content. You warrant that you will not submit any material which in any way infringes the rights of a third party or which infringes any applicable laws.
We may accept the information and/or material you provide or refuse to consider it in our sole and absolute discretion. You may not submit any information or material which is in any way defamatory, obscene, unlawful, harmful, offensive or inappropriate or which infringes the rights of a third party or may have the effect of being harassing, threatening, abusive or hateful or that otherwise degrades or intimidates an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age or disability.
By contacting Boomerang you are agreeing and consenting to Boomerang holding and processing personal and sensitive personal data relating to you in any form, whether electronically or otherwise, provided that Boomerang complies at all times with data protection law and best practices.
Any information and data (including personal and sensitive personal data) which is provided by you when you contact the Programme will be held and used by us and the Broadcaster in connection with the administration and/or production of the Programme. Boomerang may be required to send your personal data to third parties outside the United Kingdom in connection with the production and the administration of the Programme and you agree to such transfer for these purposes.
We may use your information to inform you about new programmes produced by Boomerang to determine whether you are interested in taking part and/or that we consider may be of interest to you. We reserve the right in our sole discretion to contact you on the phone number or email address you may have provided, as applicable, to confirm your eligibility and/or where relevant to provide you with additional information. Boomerang does not represent, undertake or warrant that it will broadcast any programme which may or may not include you.
We will not be liable to refund any costs incurred when contacting us, including but not limited to internet access fees, postage, or the cost of calls made, or such other costs which may be incurred during or as a result of contacting us.
We do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any computer network, system, server, provider, telephony system or otherwise or any postal service failures which may result in any application not being properly received.
You agree to notify us of any changes to the circumstances and/or information and/or data provided in this application form during your continued participation in the Programme application process.
You shall keep confidential and shall not disclose to any third party any confidential information, photographs or other material relating to us or the Programme or anyone taking part in it which comes to your knowledge as result of your application to participate in the Programme. The foregoing will not include matters already in the public domain.
Nothing in these terms and conditions restricts your statutory rights as a consumer. For more details on your statutory rights you should contact your local Trading Standards Office or Citizen’s Advice Bureau.
We reserve the right to change these terms and criteria at any time without notice to you, and you agree to abide by the most recent version of the same.
Nothing in these terms confers or is intended to confer any rights on any third party pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Each party irrevocably agrees that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these terms or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
