Don't take the extended warranty. If it breaks down within a year it's covered by the warranty anyway.0 -
if it does then does the warranty carry over to the replacement??
i know it sounds a stupid question but the boxes can fail for random things, the channel order changed which mucked up the last one i bought from therethings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then

If you have an extended warranty then that lasts till it runs out, if the retailer decides to repair or replace the item that's up to them - I still wouldn't go for an extended warranty though.
If the channel order change messed up your settings why not just clear it and start again, which I have just done for my father-in-law's box.0 -
ok mate, thought it might be worth the extra few quid if it carried over to the replacement.
what happened in this particular case was a well documented fault with sagem freeview boxes and sony id-tvs in 2005 when the epg changes caused the tvs numerous problems and erratic behaviour linked to software problems in the boxes, it was all on digitalspy at the time, the boxes were fine till you rescanned (you had to rescan as well cos new channels were being added) and many boxes automatically rescanned, then everything went **** up, sagem and sony in particular were drowning under returned in warranty stockthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then
