I'm happy to be educated. I'm very much of the opinion that prices can only come down from here, and I'm very much of the opinion that that is a good thing. Actually, a flick through right move in my area and the surrounds shows a good number of reductions which you wouldn't have seen a couple of years back.

Sorry, might seem a bit rude but in the 2 years you've been posting here all you've done is go an extra £300 in debt but somehow gained a property. Something isn't adding up.
People split up, people die, !!!! happens. You can I'm sure dig back through my posts and pull up stuff. You know the gist anyway - spendthrift, trying to sort myself out. It'll happen. I'm not in the market for a house anytime soon anyway. Make of that what you will, but wanting or needing prices to fall for my personal gain isn't where I'm at. I'm not sure where trying to pull my character apart fits into giving any structured replies to this thread anyway.0 -

I thought the same in 1993 when my BIL & I passed up the chance to buy a London council flat with a 50% RTB discount. Nearly £50k - they must've thought we were daft!0 -

Yes, probably not a "structured" reply. I guess I've landed where I landed 2 years ago. Someone who has been gifted more wealth than most people can imagine, spunked it all, and then been gifted a house complaining about morals and fairness leaves a nasty taste in my mouth for some reason. They're not though if the people receiving don't own a home.
Think about it, on a £150k inheritance divided by 3, that's £50k give or take of inheritance, which buys 1/3 of the same house.
At £75k it's £25k of inheritance, which still only buys 1/3 of the house but there's £100k left to pay in this situation, or 2/3.
It may benefit the family in the short term, as in there's more cash available, but in the long term in terms of what it buys you, I disagree that high prices are always good.💙💛 💔0 -
