Department restructure

The department I work in is being restructured. My position is changing (title and duties) and there are other/new positions being created. We have had 1-1 chats about what we would be interested in doing when the new structure happens but as yet we have no job descriptions so it's hard to say. The decision on who get's what lies with our bosses but what if my skills don't match any of the new roles..? Will I just be made redundant ( I have been there 10 plus years).

Depends how many roles are in the new structure? How many of you work there that are affected?
Usually (if done properly) employers will setup and utilise a skills matrix. Then either redeploy where appropriate, laying off surplus staff at the bottom of the matrix. Or run interviews for the top bunch and see who fits where.0
