Facing up to my debts

I have realised (a little to late perhaps but better late than never) that i need to face up to my debts. I have no idea how much i owe or even who I owe money to anymore. I have a big box under my bed where i have been putting any letters for money i dont have and have this morning pulled this box out and began the HUGE task of going through each and every letter,

I have seperated the letters into piles of who the money is owed to and now plan to start sorting the most recent letters from that pile so I can begin to takle them.

I hope to have got a list togeather off all my debts by tomorrow afternoon so will post back with the shocking news then. Am posting today as I hope this site will give me the kick up the backside I need to clear my debts

So heres me saying a 'hello' and hoping theres room for one more debt free wannabe

Be back soon with details of my debts

  • Hello and welcome,

Well done on facing up to your debts, its often referred to as a light bulb moment (LBM) when we realise something must be done.

It takes courage to come on here and tell people how things stand with you and I wish you well with that.

When you do look at where your finances really are, then don't panic, because we are all here for you, and there are loads of people who are very knowledgeable who can help you every step of the way to debt-freeness!

After you have come to realise what is happening you will be asked to put up a SOA (statement of affairs) showing what you have coming in and what you have going out, there is a sticky at the top of the page. You can cut and paste and add your own information.

Then people will be able to show you where you are maybe spending a bit more than you have to, perhaps recommending that you switch energy suppliers or something like that.

We are all here to support you on your journey, look forward to hearing from you soon,

    Gale
