Norwich & Peterborough BS Closure

Hi,
Has anyone had any official contact from N&P yet over the closure of their current accounts?
I popped into the branch today, as I was passing, and they've pretty much been left in the dark by YBS too. Although they were as usual excellent and professional, even knowing they're out of work now.
I'm just wondering what to do. I don't have the luxury of time to sort this mess out, soon I go away for work, and that can be weeks at a time. My friend has a slightly dodgy credit history, which prevents him from opening a new account anywhere.
I would've thought that banking ombudsman should step in and either, force YBS to honour the account, move it for us to a bank of our choice; Not just say by 31st August we want you gone!
Why also should I be out of pocket trying to spend time sorting out someone else's greed? I will be sending YBS a bill for my time and effort in sorting this out. Especially as N&P aren't members of the account switching service.
And before anyone says about "That's life" etc - just remember, not all of us can get to branches, work where we have access to the internet (restricted sites etc, remote etc), and find out through Facebook our account is being closed and forced on us within 7 months!:mad::mad::mad:

Why start a new thread when there's an existing one that (as I look) is immediately below yours in the list?
