What to do? Debtfree wannabe!

Not sure what todo. I have been keeping my debts hidden for so long i don't even know what debts i have anymore, i know that probably about 6 /7 years ago i was paying money to debt companies for about 4 cards and an outstanding bill but i couldn't afford the re-payments and i hid my head in the sand destroyed all evidence of the bills and moved so many times they never found me. Now i need to sort this out as its still eating me up inside. I have read through the boards and it says you can register with experian for a credit report but i'm worried if i do that the debt people will be after me again, please advise me what you think i should do i'm terrified!

I think the first thing to do is stop panicking.

What I would do in your situation is just wait for someone to get in touch, if no one does then after six years the debts become "statute barred" which means they can no longer make you pay them back.

Another thing i would do is live as if i had to pay back this debt, and start saving, that way if they do find you then you will be able to pay them back.

Post an SOA (See first time posters threrad), and well see if we can help you out.

*note before you do pay anything back post them the letters about not acknowledging the debt, and asking for a signed agreement*
